What is #grpDNA?

#grpDNA is a hashtag which is used to refer to the "group DNA project" wherever you are on the web.  If you write a blog post, a tweet, send an email, SMS or IM and you mention the project or contribute an idea or opinion, please use that hashtag and tag.

Why a hashtag? A hastag is an agreed reference tag which can be used in different contexts and has gained popularity when using twitter. To use it for the group DNA project is the result of the usage of tags for barcamps.  The group DNA project was started as an open initiative at a session on Sunday, 19 Oct 2008 at the Berlin Barcamp (#bcberlin3).

The hashtag inspiration has been a session on the previous day called glossr, which surpise has the hashtag #glossr :-) Check it out.

At the time of this writing, no wikipedia article has yet been published either for hashtag nor for hashtags, though they have been mentioned in the twitter article.

So go for it :-)
